Additive Manufacturing Engineer

What will you do?

As an Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will focus on industrializing new products in collaboration with the NPI (New Product Introduction) team. In consultation with the customer, you will develop a manufacturable product. You are responsible for setting up the production process and, together with the operators, manufacturing the first products. Once the production process is validated and work instructions are available, the product is ready for regular production.

At Wilting, you will work in a multidisciplinary team on both new and existing products and processes. Your mission is to take the burden off the customer and deliver a product that meets their expectations.

Your tasks as an AM Engineer include:

  • Providing manufacturability advice to customers
  • Defining the production process based on various operations such as 3D printing and machining
  • Generating 3D CAD models using SolidWorks software
  • Programming and simulation with 3DXpert/ Magics software
  • Being responsible for ensuring product quality by performing risk assessments, setting up the control plan and creating work instructions
  • Hands-on troubleshooting with product or machine issues
  • Playing an active role in continuous improvement of our processes and the department

What do you bring?

  • A completed technical bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or industrial product design
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software such as 3DXpert and SolidWorks, or equivalent alternatives
  • Experience with process and/ or application development for Additive Manufacturing (L-PBF)
  • Customer-oriented, independent and accurate
