Milling
CNC milling is a computer-controlled technique, which is used to accurately machine materials such as metal, plastics and composites. CNC stands for ‘Computer Numerical Control,’ which means that milling is controlled by a computer programme. This programme tells the machine exactly how and where to cut, drill or mill. This allows complex shapes and designs to be made with great precision, from simple parts to complex components for the semicon, aerospace or automotive industries, for example.
Within Andra Tech Group, the position of milling engineer is filled in various ways. At the smaller companies, you are responsible from A to Z for the product coming out of the machine, from programming and setting to changing tools. At the larger companies, such as Wilting, we have different areas of expertise within milling. Here, we work with machine operators, millers/positioners and programmers.
